Life FM celebrates success of second Lunchbox Legends program

Adelaide’s Life FM donated 513 lunchboxes to underprivileged children in South Australian schools as part of their Lunchbox Legends program.

Throughout the first six weeks of the year, Life FM asked listeners to donate a lunchbox for the community group Cos We Care, to then be passed on to a child without a lunchbox of their own.

“We’re really excited and proud of the efforts from our listeners,” says Promotions Manager Aiden Grant.

“In a time when the cost of living is getting higher and higher, they have managed to think of others in need which is not always easy!”

It’s the second year Life FM has run the Lunchbox Legends program, with last year’s efforts bringing in 368 lunchboxes for children in need.

The involvement of SA Dental and Howards Storage World helped drive this year’s numbers thanks to them putting their hands up to help.

SA Dental, with their mascot Max Molar the Plaque Patroller (pictured), joined with Life FM yesterday to hand over 513 Lunch Boxes and a complementary dental care kit containing a toothbrush and toothpaste.

Ann Cooper, the founder and coordinator of Cos We Care explained the importance of children having their own lunch boxes.

“They no longer are seen as different in the schoolyard or as receiving a ‘hand out’. By having their own lunch box with their name on it increases their self-esteem,” Ann said.
