Kyle hints at ‘censorship free’ future with a streaming giant

Former Editor & Content Director

Radio megastar Kyle Sandilands has fired a warning shot at radio and hit out at those who prevent him from doing the content he craves.

On air this morning, Sandilands lamented how difficult it had been to get his Most Beautiful Penis Pageant across the line, and the various “fun police” and “losers” who had shrunk the competition from his original visions around its size and scale.

“Screw these losers,” he said of those who implemented terms, conditions and safety protocols. “Who are all these losers making all the rules? Bring ‘em in here.”

The competition crowned a winner this morning, but it was devoid of various elements envisaged by Sandilands, including having blind people come in and handle the finalists’ penises in order to judge their texture and feel.

In wrapping up the competition for this year, he and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson noted it was “as good as we could get it”. Sandilands, however, added in a final barb that things could be different in the future.

“Until we leave here and go commercial free and censorship free”, he said of the restrictions, hinting at a future with a streaming or podcast giant less hamstrung by commercial broadcasting rules.

Henderson has previously noted there should be fewer rules in FM radio, and that her rivals often let themselves down by not pursuing the type of content her and Sandilands are willing to tackle.

The duo are currently contracted through to “2022 and beyond” with the Australian Radio Network (ARN).

Cancelling Radio?

K&J going to a streaming service would be an absolute game changer.

Radio will always have it’s place but if the biggest show in the country left to pursue their own venture…. that would be huge.

This is out there however I assume this gets people interested in the show. Kyle certainly knows how to play it up. One would think the huge $$$ he makes from commercial radio will keep him in it for sometime yet.

It always amazes me how when painfully politically correct people like Alison Langdon or Julia Morris go onto the show, they always suck up to Kyle.

Media people are so fake

Yeah, how come all the woke feminists love Kyle?

I bet Magda Szubanski will go on the show soon and say how great he is

The hate drives more listening and Kyle drives a rolls! He actually doesn’t say things that are that bad. He is an entertainer.

If Australia had a Sirius XM equivalent, I dare say they’d already be there.

Wonder if SCA could lure them back via Listnr? Question is, do they have the moolah?

@Pete
SCA would have no hope. They have no cash, Listnr is just a copy of iHeart and they have the giant US backing with iHeart.

Is it contract renewal time or just boring FM breakfast radio trying to drag in more listeners with a two dollar publicity stunt……oh please
