Kyle & Jackie O claim top spot: Australian Podcast Ranker

Reporter

The KIIS Network is celebrating after Kyle & Jackie O claimed top spot overall in the latest Australian Podcast Ranker.

Having maintained their position as the #1 catch-up podcast since the start of the podcast ranker, this is the first time The Kyle & Jackie O Show has taken out the top spot overall, with the powerhouse duo attracting a record 1.06 million listeners and 4.7 million downloads across February.

Of the success of the podcast, Jackie O says “We are thrilled to have the number one podcast in the country and achieve such huge figures. Aside from our Sydney breakfast audience, it’s wonderful to know we have so many listeners who take time out of their busy day to listen to us.”

ARN says its iHeartPodcast Network Australia also achieved record figures, with 6.8 million combined listeners (up 31% on January) and 31.1 million monthly downloads (up 34%).

Results from the February report also show the network has three of Australia’s Top 5 podcasts.

ARN’s Head of Digital Audio Corey Layton says “Today’s results showcase the success of ARN’s strategy to intertwine both radio and podcast audiences together, capturing listeners’ attention regardless of what platform they choose to listen on.”

Probably a fairly safe bet to simulcast the show into other markets.

What a joke Kyle and Jackie O release up to
5-6 “ episodes “ a day, that’s why they rate higher. Hilarious or desperate to stay relevant.

I love the fact they offer the whole show or individual segments each day. I’ve been listening to their podcast since the time most people didn’t know what one was (around 2008 from memory?).
