Jase & Lauren unveil full team: Clint Stanaway, Christian Petracca & Nazeem Hussain

Former Editor & Content Director

Melbourne’s newest Breakfast show, Jase & Lauren in the Morning, has revealed which other personalities will be joining the team.

9News Melbourne’s weekend sports presenter, Clint Stanaway, comes on board full-time as the show’s news and sports reporter.

Stanaway effectively replaces Sacha Barbour who had been with the previous iteration of the show, Jase & PJ. Yesterday, Radio Today revealed Barbour would not be returning to the new show, and would instead shift to the Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) GOLD104.3 as Workday newsreader.

In addition, AFL player Christian Petracca comes on board to keep listners on track with all the latest AFL stories around town.

It appears Petracca is replacing retired AFL player Dane Swan, who revealed on his podcast recently that he had been dumped from the show. Petracca is slated to appear on the show on Monday mornings, the same as Swan’s previous commitment, however if a big AFL story breaks, he will make additional appearances.

And finally, comedian, presenter and actor Nazeem Hussain will be a part of the show. ARN confirmed to Radio Today he will appear on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In a statement, ARN said having Hussain on the program will be the perfect way to get the day started, particularly at a time when the world could use a lot more laughs.

Hussain said he’s really looking forward to having a laugh with the duo.

“I’m a comedian so, naturally a morning person. I can’t wait to overshare with my favourite city on Earth. Except when I’m touring interstate,” he said.

Petracca, meanwhile, said he’s “super stoked” to be the man on the ground for Jase & Lauren in the Morning.

“I’m also looking forward to the banter with Lauren. She knows her AFL,” he added.

The new newsreader, Stanaway, was similarly excited.

“I couldn’t be happier landing a job where I get to deliver news and in particular sports news, to the city that I grew up in and love. After a decade behind the news desk at Nine, I’m pumped to hit the mics with a team I know everybody is going to love. I’m a big talker and love to laugh, so I think I’ve found the perfect Breakfast home,” he said.

The new Jase & Lauren in the Morning show kicks off on Monday, August 9, with Phillips replacing Polly ‘PJ’ Harding.

Harding has previously urged the show’s loyal fans to give the new show a go and embrace Phillips.

The show’s executive producer is Caitlin McArthur, who joined earlier this year to replace Alex Perigo.

The ol’ Tony Aldridge cut and paste radio show. Jase & Lauren + Sacha would’ve been great.

Definitely going to miss PJ and Sacha in the podcast but I’m glad they’re changing up the show just so it’s not continuing where J&PJ left off, it gives Lauren a fair shot to try and make the show her own instead of just being ‘PJ’s replacement’.

Good play ARN, although still unsure why Sacha had to go..

Have you listened to the break? Clint Stanaway says our mums are mates about his friendship with Lauren Phillips.

Nazeem is a fantastic choice – Jase & Naz in 2022

Disappointing

Such a let down. If I wanted to listen to non-stop sports dribble all morning I’d tune in to every other station. What a waste of Jase’s talent
