Jade replaces Mel Greig at Wave FM

Former Assistant Editor

Wave FM welcomes back Jade Tonta (formerly Papesch) to its Breakfast lineup, joining Trav and Chris.

She returns to the station after four years away, replacing the recently departed Mel Greig.

Jade previously held the role until 2014 when she left the station to spend more time with her daughter Lulu who had been diagnosed with Down syndrome.

Now the Illawarra local regains her old gig, with Travis Winks and Chris Lee in tow.

“We are very lucky that someone of Jade’s talent was at a time in their life when they could step straight back into the Breakfast show,” said Wave FM general manager Tony Williams.

“Jade is so well known and loved in this market.”

“I’m like John Farnham, keep coming out of retirement!” added Jade.

“In all seriousness, I’ve missed Breakfast Radio, and we’ve got a good team so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

“Lulu’s doing really well and is off to big school next year, so it’s good timing for us as a family too.”

Jade, Trav and Chris can be heard on 96.5 Wave FM Breakfast from 5am-9am weekdays.
