ARN’s iHeartRadio launches Michael Gudinski tribute station

Former Editor & Content Director

The tributes for music man Michael Gudinski – who died earlier this week sending shockwaves through the industry – continue to flow.

The latest public offering is a tribute station on Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) digital platform, iHeartRadio Australia.

The station features all the music Gudinski championed over his career, including tracks from the artists on his label and those who toured with his company, Frontier.

iHeartRadio Australia’s content director, Brett ‘Nozz’ Nossiter, said Gudinski was a giant of the music industry, a larger-than-life personality, and an inspiration to many.

“Many of us at ARN had a close working and personal relationship with the great man – and everyone has classic anecdote to share about their time with MG. When we heard the news about his passing, we immediately wanted to pay tribute to him and the pop up iHeartRadio station is part of how we are remembering his incredible contribution to music, touring, and support for Australian artists,” he said.

“On a personal level, MG was a huge reason why I chose a career in music media and the station is my way to say ‘Thank you for the music, your legacy will live on for a long time to come.’ Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Sue, Matt, and Kate and the whole Mushroom family.”
