Hot Tomato the winner on the Gold Coast: GfK Survey 2, 2024
Hot Tomato is still on top in the second GfK Survey of the Gold Coast this year, but 92.5 Triple M Gold has surged in second place to halve the gap between them for all audiences 10+, and on breakfast. SCA will also be pleased to see that their new regionally networked breakfast show of Bronte and Lakey, on 90.9 Sea FM and based out of there, is working. They were the second most improved, up 1.4 to an 11.0 market share.
Elsewhere it was a fairly forgettable survey for the ABC, with the exception of triple j, up 0.9 overall to 7.2 and steady on breakfast and from ABC Classic who doubled its small audience to 1.8.
On breakfast Galey and Emily Jade (pictured) on Hot Tomato were No 1, down 0.6 to 20.0. Triple M Gold’s Flan, Ali and Spida were up 4.5 to 14.6 and Bronte and Lakey third. Survey 1 saw a massive increase for Hot Tomato’s drive duo Moyra and Big Trev and the Big Kahuna doing Fat Nights. These numbers have come back somewhat to where they were, both down 6.3. Triple M Gold was up more than 3.0 in every day part and 2.9 on weekends.
Triple M Gold, Sea FM and ABC Classic all saw the most impressive increases in cumulative listening. Hot Tomato owned most age demographics except 25-39 which still prefer Sea FM and over 65s where Triple M doubled their listeners.
