Hit107’s Amos, Cat & Angus show to wrap up

Former Assistant Editor

Hit107 will have a new Breakfast team next month, with the station announced that Amos Gill and Cat Lynch are departing the country.

The Amos, Cat and Angus show will finish up, with Cat going travelling overseas and Amos leaving to pursue his stand-up career in the US.

Amos revealed in an Instagram post that he’s been signed by an American management company.

Angus will stay with the Hit Network, and a new Adelaide Breakfast show will be announced in the coming weeks.

“It’s the right time,” said Angus. “I helped launch hit107 when I was 22 and have been very lucky to be here for four years.

“It’s a big part of my life, but I’ve always wanted to live in America and do stand up. I will also never wake up at 4am again. Ever!”

“I’m sad but looking forward to what’s next,” said Cat.

“Adelaide has been great to me and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I may never get this chance to travel to South America for an extended period ever again.”

“I’ll be staying within the Hit Network and I’m extremely excited for the role 2019 has for me,” said Angus.

“Until December, I’ll be sticking around Adelaide to develop a house at Christies Beach and drinking copious amounts of Tomfoolery Shiraz. I’ll be melancholy at leaving what I call home.”

“Amos, Cat and Angus have been an incredible asset to our network,” surmised Hit Network head of content Gemma Fordham.

“However, with the shift in our target audience we’re excited to deliver a local show in Adelaide that will line up with our variety music strategy and that will also complement our two existing drive shows.”

The final Amos, Cat and Angus show will take place Friday September 21.

Interesting move. This show never resonated with Adelaide. Hope they have something great up their sleeves. Looking at recent SCA breakfast appointments I would doubt it. What happened to that once great radio company. They used to make such brilliant breakfast shows.
