Hip hop showcase on final night at Spotify House

Spotify says it will continue to unveil more Korean hip hop artists and music to listeners worldwide, after Spotify House wrapped up in Sydney.

K-Hip Hop sensation Huh was front and centre on the final night for the Hip Hop Showcase.

“I’m so nervous and excited, this is the first time playing outside my country,” he told a packed-out Lansdowne Hotel.

Huh says “I have loved seeing my music enjoyed in so many places around the world thanks to Spotify, so bringing K-Hip Hop to Spotify House next to fellow hip hop artists from here has been so cool.”

Other performers on the night included New Zealand sensation lilbubblegum and the Korean-Australian group 1300.

1300 had just touched back down in Australia that morning, and belted out fan-favourite Rocksta.

Alicia Sbrugnera, Head of Music at Spotify AUNZ, said of the night: “What an incredible way to close out Spotify House at SXSW Sydney.”

“Over the course of the past few days, we’ve seen some of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region’s most promising and exciting acts take to the stage, and international acts Huh and lilbubblegum, as well as local favourites 1300, really brought it home, and showed why hip hop is having a resurgence here and across the world.”
