Here’s cheers! Smooth FM is officially a teenager

Reporter

Smooth FM is officially a teenager, today celebrating its 13th birthday.

On this day in 2012, the network – owned and operated by NOVA Entertainment – was launched in Sydney and Melbourne.

The following year, it extended its reach, broadcasting national on DAB+ to Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Currently in Sydney, Smooth is the #1 FM station, with Ty Frost, Simon Diaz and Byron Webb all #1 in their respective timeslots in GfK Survey 2. In Melbourne, Smooth is the city’s #2 FM station.

Smooth’s Head of Programming Peter Clay says “From humble beginnings to where the Smooth FM national network is now, I am very happy to see the Smooth FM team celebrating 13 years together on air and together in music.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our listeners and partners from over the years that are a huge part of the success of the Smooth FM network.”
