Fresh start for SYN

Staff Writer

SYN Media is one of the more interesting community stations in Australia, providing a strong start for many young broadcasters gaining a foothold in the industry.

Today, they have appointed 38 young volunteers to leadership positions in the station with a view to them moving into running the operation in 2013.

The leadership positions will be responsible for programming SYN’s radio, television and online platforms.

SYN's policy is to turn over all leadership positions on an annual basis, and clearing the programming schedule every 3 months to generate new programming.

The new SYN Radio Programming Manager, Jack Crane, says;

“2013 is our most exciting year yet. We're upgrading our current studios and building a brand new one which will create 24 more hours of daily broadcasting on our digital channel, I know how many creative minds we have at SYN so I can't wait to crack a few of them open and see what content we come up with next year."

SYN General Manager Tahlia Azaria commented;

“Bringing in a new team each year means we are continuously thinking up new ideas and we actually have the energy and motivation to make them happen. With the launch of 24 hours a day of new content on our digital channel just around the corner, SYN is about to hit a big period of growth and we’ll have even more opportunities for young people to make their mark on the media. It’s an incredibly exciting time.”
