Frenchie celebrates 30 years with 2ST
"Graham French is living proof that you’re never too old to keep up," says 2ST / Power FM Nowra PD Nick Lowther.
"The 60 year old today marks his 30th year with 2ST Nowra, and he’s been part of the radio industry since 1971, starting at 6KG Kalgoorlie."
"‘Frenchie’ as he’s affectionately known around the area, is the news editor for 2ST and Power FM and its associated websites. If he’s not putting together daily news breakfast bulletins for 2ST or Power, he’s on the road with his iPad, feeding digital content for 2st.com.au and Powerfm.com.au."
"Today, he’s amongst the media throng of Tony Abbott’s visit to Nowra, tomorrow he’ll be chasing locals over land development. It’s this intricate knowledge of the area alongside a keen sense of good radio that keeps listeners loyal to the station’s local news services."
"While many in his game struggle or even refuse to embrace new media, French’s hunger to develop a complete news centre for the local area has seen our local website build amazing hits over 2 years, with 2ST one of the highest visited news sites in Grant Broadcasters."
"His passion to bring quality local news to the region has seen him recognised at local, state and federal level for his contribution to emergencies, such as the recent Shoalhaven Bushfires. Congratulations on an amazing achievement Graham French!"
