Forget The Ashes, Nova have The Splashes

In April last year, Nova Brisbane and More FM Auckland got together to run an 'Australia vs New Zealand belly flop competition'.

Now as the First Test in the Ashes series gets set to begin at the Gabba, Ash, Kip and Luttsy from Nova 106.9 are hosting 'The Splashes'.

It will be Australia (The Dugongs) vs England (Tsunami Army) in another belly flop comp.

Ash said, "Without doubt this is the most important series in the World Belly Flop Championship. No self-respecting Australian wants to lose to the Poms, so the pressure is on for our team to bring us glory in the pool."

Luttsy said, "We have some spectacular athletes in The Splashes who are prepared to put their belly on the line for Australia. For those of us who are also nervously following events at the Gabba, The Splashes are an early opportunity to show we can, and will, dominate the red and white!"

Daryl Somers has even recorded a special rendition of the National Anthem just for the event that will be held at 10am tomorrow.
