Fifi Box breaks down on-air after emotional update on young ‘Underdogs’ star Elijah
This morning on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick, Fifi Box was brought to tears by an emotional update from the family of young Elijah, one of 14 kids selected for the brekky show’s ‘Underdogs: Basketball Edition’ last November.
Elijah joined the team after missing out on sport due to serious kidney complications.

Late last year, he was given the chance of a lifetime: running onto Melbourne’s John Cain Arena in front of a packed NBL crowd, playing in a halftime game with his teammates, and receiving a heartfelt pump-up from Tones and I – all thanks to Fifi, Fev & Nick.
Today, Elijah’s mum Jess called in with an update: after four attempts, Elijah has had a successful kidney transplant.
Overcome with emotion, Fifi broke down on-air, describing the transplant’s success as one of the team’s happiest ever moments.
Jess said of her son “He has touched so many people throughout his journey. But I don’t think you guys truly understand the positive impact that you’ve imprinted in his life. He feels courageous, he feels strong, he feels so important because you guys care so much about him. You check in on him.”

Listen to Fifi, Fev & Nick on Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox from 6-9am weekdays, also on LiSTNR.
