Fox forced to call off Fifi Box’s Big Night Out due to lockdowns

Staff Writer

Fifi Box’s much-hyped return to partying has been stymied by Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdowns.

The radio star and her co-hosts Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody were meant to head to the Gold Coast with some listeners this week to reignite Box’s night life.

The mum of two had committed to staying up for 24 hours and documenting the ‘all-nighter’ for her radio show.

Executive producer of the program Leon Sjogren had said he was looking forward to experiencing “full-party Fifi”.

Due to Stage 3 lockdown orders, however, the team cannot travel to Queensland this week as planned. At this stage, the lockdown orders lift at 11:59pm (AEST) on Thursday, however there is the possibility this will be extended.

A Fox FM spokesperson told Radio Today the event will be rescheduled as soon as Victorians can travel interstate without the need for quarantine.

This is not the first time COVID-19 has interrupted Fox’s party plans. In March last year, a listener party on the ‘World Famous Rooftop’ was called off  and the show – then known as Fifi, Fev & Byron – attempted to conduct it without guests.
