Chris Bowen hires John Laxon in legal action against Ray Hadley

Former Assistant Editor

2GB Mornings presenter Ray Hadley is facing imminent legal action over claims of workplace bullying.

The Australian reports that former producer Chris ‘The Bowen’ Bowen has engaged the services of Laxon Lawyers’ John Laxon, and will launch imminent legal action.

Laxon is no stranger to facing 2GB and Hadley in court. In 2014 he fought for former 2GB employee Richard Palmer, with their allegations against Hadley resulting in a settlement.

Palmer’s case hinged on a recorded a conversation of extraordinary abuse of a graphic, personal and aggressive nature by Hadley.

The case also included allegations of false imprisonment as a work colleague ‘guarded’ the door to Hadley’s office whilst he allegedly verbally abused Palmer.

Bowen went public with his allegations last month, in a move that appears to have opened the floodgates for others to air their grievances against Hadley.

In a Facebook post, Bowen accused Hadley of “16 years of intense bullying”.

“This person is incredibly intelligent, a pure genius at getting out of a sticky spot. Plus is backed by much more coin then me!” he said.

“But then again you don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to work it out.”

Hadley took to the air to apologise to Bowen, saying “I’m sorry for any hurt I’ve caused him.”

Shortly afterwards, several former Macquarie Media employees went on-the-record and told ABC’s 730 about their own experiences with Hadley’s bullying.
