Television is well known for splashing the cash when it comes to the big interviews, is radio in the same space in 2016?
The Daily Telegraph has taken aim with “the industry secret Kyle and Jackie O don’t want their listeners to know”.
Kyle & Jackie O’s tagline is “Breakfast with the stars”, push comes to shove the “we have the stars” mantle is a title K&J earned long before they moved to KIIS. But the Tele has dished the dirt that Kyle and Jacki O: “spend tens of thousands of dollars to maintain their market lead by buying interviews for celebrities including Carmen Electra, Scott Disick, Kris Jenner, Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic.”
They even have a spokesperson for the duo laying claim that: “when certain celebrities may ask for some form of consideration for their time.”
SCA only a few weeks ago were rumoured to have spent a motza on securing Caitlyn Jenner for 2Day FM’s Rove & Sam – the rumour circulating that $50k was dropped.
So it is ok to spend money on securing the stars for breakfast radio?
