Cheryl Northey the new Managing Director of 2SER

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Macquarie University have announced that Cheryl Northey is the new Managing Director of their jointly owned community radio station 2SER, succeeding Paula Kruger who is leaving the station after just shy of 2 years in the role.

Cheryl has worked with and for Network 10, the ABC, SBS, Deutsche Welle, the Community Broadcasting Australia Association and the Australian Music Radio Airplay Project. She is currently a Sector Investment and Advisory Committee member for the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF).

Cheryl said:

“I’m looking forward to joining 2SER and shaping the vital role it plays in supporting independent, diverse and innovative music, news and content that connects with and amplifies Sydney communities.” 

The 2SER Board expressed its gratitude to Paula for her contributions through a phase of organisational change and wishes her success in her future endeavours.

Cheryl commences the role today, Monday December 2 2024. Paula is joining Media Diversity Australia in 2025 as their Executive Director.
