Carlie and the Newsbridge team win major award at NAB Show in Vegas
There are big celebrations in Vegas today for former Melbourne radio newsreader Carlie Bonavia and the team at cloud media hub platform Newsbridge.
Its newly launched technology MXT-1 has just won Product of the Year and Best of Show at the the 2023 NAB Show – the annual trade event produced by the National Association of Broadcasters.
It’s an AI indexing technology that generates human-like descriptions of video content and is capable of indexing more than 500 hours of video per minute.
Particularly useful for those working with media and sports content, the company says MXT-1 makes searching large collections of video faster, easier and more intuitive.
Newsbridge co-founder Frederic Petitpont (pictured above today after winning the awards) says the technology is an important breakthrough:
“MXT-1 aligns video perception with the power of language models to accomplish incredible results.”
Carlie – a former Breakfast news presenter on 101.9 The Fox – moved to Europe a decade ago and now lives in France. She previously told Radio Today that while it’s a world away from radio, her role as Content and Communications Manager at Newsbridge is a great fit for her:
“I’ve always kept a hand in through some corporate voiceover and podcasting, but immersing myself in the media world full-time once again – albeit from a different perspective – is really satisfying.”
