Byron Cooke announces KIIS departure

Reporter

Byron Cooke has today announced he will be leaving his role at Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 to pursue an exciting overseas opportunity.

His last day at the station will be Friday, April 5.

Cooke has been a part of the KIIS 101.1 family since early 2022, working in a number of on-air positions prior to becoming the station’s Workday announcer.

Most recently, he has been keeping the mics warm ahead of Kyle & Jackie O’s entry into the Melbourne market.

Cooke says “I’ve absolutely loved my KIIS 101.1 era! Thank you to the team at ARN for your belief and support over the past couple of years. A life-changing international radio opportunity awaits, and I look forward to sharing those details soon.”

Head of KIIS Network Derek Bargwanna says “We’d like to thank Byron for his professionalism, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence during his time with KIIS 101.1. Byron has been an invaluable member of our team who will be missed, and we wish him all the best with his next adventure.”
