Bryce Ruthven joins Hit 104.7 Canberra on afternoons
Radio announcer Bryce Ruthven has departed ACE Radio for greener pastures.
The ACRA award-winning presenter has defected to Hit 104.7 in Canberra, the Southern Cross Austereo and Australian Radio network joint-venture station.
He will host the afternoons shift and weekend breakfast with Ellie Mobbs and Jason Roses.
“I’m really excited to be joining the talented on-air team at Canberra FM,” he told Radio Today.
“Rod and Craig have great reputations and have been amazing during the process of bringing me to the nation’s capital. I instantly feel part of the Canberra FM family.”
Hit 104.7 is now Canberra’s top radio station, according to the latest GfK data. The station secured a 20.0% share of listening for People 10+ in the radio ratings released last month.
Station content director, Rod Cuddihy, told Radio Today that Ruthven was a “great fit” for Hit.
“He comes with a colourful background and brings a broad skillset with tremendous potential,” said Cuddihy in an email on Tuesday.
“I’m excited to hear what he brings to our HIT104.7 Weekend Breakfast with Ellie Mobbs and ex-Big Brother housemate Jason Roses as well.”
Ruthven spent three years hosting workdays and on Gippsland’s TRFM, where he was also a digital content producer. He’s also worked for SCA, ARN and Grant Broadcasters.
He won the 2018 ACRA for Best Music Presenter in the country category. Listen to his first break:
The Weekend Breakfast show will be one to keep an eye on, three very talented individuals.
