Bryce Mills and Lochlan Watt depart as triple j announces 2025 program line up

Reporter

After seven years with triple j, Bryce Mills will depart the station at the end of the year.

After starting out on reception, Bryce moved on to presenting Weekend Arvos, then hosted triple j Breakfast for four years. Most recently he’s been co-hosting Lunch alongside longtime mate Dave Woodhead.

Bryce says “My whole experience at triple j has felt like a dream. From daydreaming about working here while sitting in class, to working on reception and greeting my heroes every morning to then actually getting to work as a triple j presenter!? I still can’t believe I somehow pulled it off.”

As previously announced, Lochlan Watt is also wrapping up at triple j, as is heavy metal show The Racket.

Lochlan says “It has been the highest honour to serve heavy music as one of Australia‘s few government-anointed community representatives, and I have loved almost every minute of this job.”

Hardcore show short.fast.loud with Josh Merriel is also wrapping up on triple j, moving to Double J.

Next year will see the introduction of three new shows to weekly programming:

triple j will launch a new alt pop show on Wednesdays from 9pm-11pm, bringing listeners tracks from at home and around the globe. Celebrating fresh talent along with the biggest releases in K Pop, J Pop and more, the new show will be hosted by Taiwanese-Australian indie pop singer-songwriter, Tiffi (pictured above).

A new heavy music show is coming to the triple j airwaves, airing Tuesdays from 9pm-11pm. Details will be revealed in January.

Perfect Sunday will round out the week every Sunday from 7pm – 9pm. It’s chilled music, with popular artists also sharing their Perfect 10: a curated playlist inspired by a fun question from presenter Colby Roberston.

triple j’s Hip Hop Show is also entering a new era. Say hello to new host, A.GIRL. The Western Sydney artist is a familiar voice and listeners will likely remember her for her multiple Hip Hop Show residencies, her stunning take on Stevie Wonder for Like A Version or when she performed for triple j’s Bars of Steel. A.GIRL will source and showcase the best in local and international Hip Hop.

Regular triple j programming resumes Monday 6 January.
