Brendan ‘Whippy’ Dangar bound for Hot Tomato

Melbourne radio figure Brendon ‘Whippy’ Dangar is heading north to the Gold Coast to become the new content director for 1029 Hot Tomato.

The former KIIS 101.1 content director and Gold 104.3 announcer replaces Dan Bradley, who last month announced he was returning to Triple M Melbourne.

It’s a sort of ‘home-coming’ for Dangar, who spent time on the Gold Coast after launching his career in Newcastle 9n 1995.

Whippy says he’s looking forward to making the move to the Coast.

“I’ve been looking for the perfect opportunity to come back and Hot Tomato’s always a station that I’ve had my eye on, so I can’t wait.”

Hot Tomato general manager Graham Miles says Dangar is a good fit for the station.

“We are very pleased to welcome Whippy to the role. He has already worked with some of our people and we know his skills and experience are a good fit and will be a great benefit to the station.”

Whippy will take up the role in mid-April.
