Black Caviar retires – how radio reflected it

Staff Writer

With Black Caviar retiring from racing after 25 wins from 25 starts, radio has been reflecting the news.

In true Fitzy and Wippa style, the Nova 96.9 duo recorded a song for her. Fitzy says:

“The only way we could express our emotion for Black Caviar is to put it into song and when you think of emotion, you think of James Blunt."

"Within an hour of the announcement, Carnival’s programming has featured Black Caviar produced elements non-stop.

During the day today, RSN’s racing team’s feature interviews with Black Caviar owners Neil Werrett, Pam Hawkes, ace trainer Peter Moody, jockey Luke Nolan, Australia’s number one caller RSN’s Greg Miles, Author of the Black Caviar book – Gerard Whateley, Form Guru Deane Lester, Racing’s foremost ratings analyst Dominic Beirne, Timeform’s Gary Crispe, and more."
