Bieber Island – That’s a wrap
This morning it was Kyle and Jackie O’s turn for some Bieber love. With Justin performing on Bieber Island… just a few fans (1600 odd) were ferried to the gig with Sydney harbour as the backdrop.
K&J had Biebs on their show, while Seven had the vision of his performances on Sunrise.
KIIS report that they had a total of 1.7 million calls made to the station and tens of thousands online entries to get a sport on the island. The #BIEBERISLAND hastag got a mention more than 6 million times on Twitter. Across the three hour event this morning, almost 100,000 Tweets had Justin’s performances trending and over 4,000 Instagram #BIEBERISLAND posts were shared.
The day also marked the launch of the iHeartRadio LIVE series, by ARN and iHeartRadio Australia, in partnership with Emotive. iHeartRadio Australia will stage the country’s largest live music event series with 14 iHeartRadio Live events set to be held over the next 12 months.
iHeartRadio Australia’s Content Director Brett “Nozz” Nossiter said: “Our audiences want to get up close to their favourite artists and experience music and performances like never before. Having Justin Bieber perform for #BIEBERISLAND was a great way to launch our iHeartRadio Live series. I can’t wait to announce the next 13 live events where fans can enjoy their favourite artists, genres and music events.”
Head of iHeartRadio Australia Geraint Davies adds, “We’re excited to launch our iHeartRadio Live series today with Justin Bieber. This is the beginning of what will be a huge year of music for iHeartRadio audiences with more live events, more exclusive content for fans, and commercial partnerships soon to be announced.”
Justin Biebers run in Australia had him land in Melbourne for the Hit Network’s World Famous Rooftop Monday, a Table Tennis match with Hamish Blakes Dad, a chat with The Shazam Top 20 with Angus and Ash, The X Factor on Seven, the Project with an interview with Peter Helliar (worth a watch) on Ten and finally today; KIIS with Kyle and Jackie O and Sunrise on Seven.
Bieber lands in NZ next. For The Edge, they have the acoustic show and ZM, their World Exclusive Bieber-Q.
