Nova’s Ben & Liam to broadcast live atop a billboard this week

Fresh from a round of tennis with Novak Djokovic, Nova Adelaide duo Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton have shared details of their next stunt in a ratings bid to make headlines.

Ben & Liam will be covered in velcro and suspended from a billboard located on Rydges South Park, Adelaide, on Thursday, where they will broadcast the show live.

The boys are billing the idea as “a world radio first”.

“We can’t believe we convinced the bosses to give us a billboard to do whatever we want,” Harvey and Stapleton said. “We thought instead of a picture of us, why not chuck our actual selves on there to give people the authentic experience.”

Tim Kennedy and Melissa Wyness from Adelaide agency MediaNest have been instrumental in bringing the concept to life, with the iconic Rydges South Park providing the perfect location.

The station’s programming boss, Ben Latimer, said he was “a little worried” when Ben & Liam pitched the idea, but was impressed enough to push ahead.

“I can’t believe they’ve actually been able to make this happen and can’t wait to see how it all comes together,” Latimer said in a statement.
