Former Mix102.3 and CRUISE1323 content director Barry Keohane has a new role with Grant Broadcasters.

From mid-April he will be the broadcaster’s regional content director across Victoria and South Australia.

The vacancy came about earlier this year when Mark Hyland stepped down to instead take on the on-air Breakfast gig at the broadcaster’s bay93.9.

Keohane has been content director at ABC Adelaide, and joined Australian Radio Network (ARN) as content director of Mix and CRUISE in June 2019. He left in October last year and was replaced by Richie Wright.

Grant Broadcasters’ group content director, Ryan Rathbone, said Keohane was the obvious choice for the job.

“We’re fortunate to have attracted a number of highly skilled candidates for this role, but Barry’s experience in regional, metro and international radio combined with his coaching at AFTRS made him the obvious choice for the job,” he said.

Keohane said he was excited to get started.

“Radio is my number one passion, and even though I’ve enjoyed the last few months doing my own thing mixed in with some study, I knew when the right opportunity came along I would jump at it,” he said.

“I’m excited to be working with Grant Broadcasters and I’m looking forward to helping the stations deliver on the ‘Leaders in Local’ philosophy.”
