B105’s Stav takes a punch for charity
B105’s Stav from the Stav, Abby and Matt breakfast show fought a younger and heavier opponent on Saturday night in a exhibition style boxing match.
Stav fought to raise money for the Small Steps 4 Hannah domestic violence charity and only had ten weeks to learn how to box, get fit, and arrive fight-ready.
There was no shortage of entertainment as Stav walked to the ring displaying his proud heritage with the Queensland Police Pipes & Drums mini-band, accompanied by three Scottish Dancers.
Once in the ring, Stav took a few of hits from 24-year-old Will Cruice in the first round before dishing some of his own out in round 2.
The fight was ended in the second round when Will caused a hefty nosebleed for Stav, resulting in Brisbane’s Will Cruice being crowned the winner by TKO.
There were no hard feelings after the fight, with the boys hugging it out once the fight was called off.
The fight was not a total loss for Stav, raising money for the Small Steps 4 Hannah charity, going towards domestic violence victims and domestic violence prevention.
The Small Steps for Hannah charity was founded by the Clarke family after their daughter and her children were murdered in a 2020 domestic violence incident.
