Hamish & Andy jumps to #2 on Podcast Ranker

Former Editor & Content Director

LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy podcast has climbed to #2 on the Australian Podcast Ranker for the month of June.

This places the podcast only behind Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime, which has sales representation from ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network.

Hamish & Andy replaced Stuff You Should Know in the #2 position, while the radio catch-up podcast of The Kyle & Jackie O Show held onto #4.

ARN’s Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne snuck up one spot to round out the top five.

Big movers this month included SCA’s Triple M Rocks Footy NRL, which jumped 11 spots to #16, The National Briefing (up 16 spots to #22), ARN’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd (up 22 spots to #37), and The Rush Hour with MG & Liam (up 25 spots to #47).

There was little movement in the ranking of the top 10 podcast publishers, with ARN’s iHeartPodcastNetwork Australia easily holding onto the #1 position. The network had 385 active podcasts for the June period, with 12,188,466 downloads.

SCA and its LiSTNR platform held onto second spot – its 403 active podcasts garnering it 9,494,508 downloads.

Schwartz Media, with just two active podcasts, came in at 10th, with 1,175,170 downloads.

In total across the month, there were 49.9 million podcast downloads for the measured titles. This was down slightly on last month’s 52.2 million, but up 22% year-on-year.

The ranker is an industry initiative and is published by Triton Digital in accordance with IAB Tech Lab’s Podcast Measurement Guidelines.

Participating publishers in the Australian Ranker include ARN/iHeartMedia, Audioboom, Babyology, Diamantina, Kinderling Kids Radio, News Corp Australia, Nine, Nova, Podshape, Schwartz Media, Southern Cross Austereo, Sports Entertainment Network, Stitcher Media, TOFOP Productions, Wavelength Creative, West Australian Newspapers, and Wondery.
