Australia’s fifth Beatle on the Today Show

Staff Writer

2CH's Bob Rogers has appeared on Nine's Today Show to speak about his experience as the 'fifth Beatle'.

It was 50 years ago that The Beatles came to Australia and Rogers was the only journalist to tour with the Awesome Foursome.

Rogers revealed he got the amazing gig after trying to resign from his job at 2SM.

"My life changed dramatically," Rogers said.

Paul McCartney and John Lennon were his favourite members of the band and Rogers explained 'they weren't rich then'.

He talks about the hype, the songs and a meeting with Bob Dylan.

Rogers' radio special celebrating 50 years since touring with The Beatles aired on 2CH today at midday and will be replayed at midday on Saturday.
