Jade and Damien depart Wave FM

Another surprise announcement this morning as the Illawarra’s Wave FM 96.5 breakfast duo of Jade Tonta and Damien Leith announced that they are finishing up next Tuesday December 10.

The pair said the reasons came down to family and contract discussions, with them deciding not to renew for next year. They also said it was not the end for Jade and Damien with “other projects in the works.” 

Jade has been involved with Wave FM and on breakfast for 16 years, stepping back from the role for 18 months to look after her daughter Lulu. Damien has spent four years with Jade on breakfast and before that two with Power FM in Muswellbrook. The pair had an exceptional final survey together, up more than 5% and with the station having the biggest audience they’d ever recorded.
