Akmal responds to Rove saying he’s “too credible” for I’m A Celebrity…

Former Assistant Editor

107.7 2GO Breakfast co-host Akmal Saleh has responded to Rove McManus claiming that he is “too credible” to be a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Speaking with Yahoo7 Be recently, Rove killed off swirling rumours that he would be going into the jungle.

“I’d never, never [go into the jungle],” he said. “Because I have credibility.”

“Nope, it will never ever happen, I care not to be humiliated with worms. It’s not for me.”

On 107.6 GO Breakfast with Mandy and Akmal this morning, former contestant Akmal claimed that integrity had nothing to do with the choice made by those who go on the show, but rather it was simply a case of money.

“When he (Rove) says I have integrity, or credibility, you can exchange that word credibility for money,” Akmal said.

“Is that [money] why you did it?” asked Mandy.

“Of course,” responded Akmal. “You think I like the taste of fish guts?”

“If you watch this show, look at these ‘so called celebrities’ eyes and they’ve got that look in their eyes, I should have been more careful with my money.”

“No one wants to do these shows, no one wants to do it, no one, you know, it’s only for the money.”

Mandy and Akmal are 107.7 2GO’s new Breakfast team, airing 6am – 9am weekdays.
