Adam Connelly celebrates 20 years in commercial radio
Today marks 20 years in commercial radio for Adam Connelly. And he’s more in love with his job than ever.
The Breakfast co-host, writer and Content Director for both 5MU and Power FM in Murray Bridge – who began his industry journey at 8HA in Alice Springs – considers himself very lucky to work in radio.

“It’s a bug and a love and an albatross and a joy,” he posted to social media.
“Thank you to Gavin Flanagan for taking a chance on a kid from Sydney and getting me to work at 8HA in 2005.”
“Thanks to everyone who’s tuned in. There is no radio without you. And thanks to all the amazing people I’ve had the joy of working with for two decades.”

In March last year, Connelly celebrated 10 years as part of the 5MU and Power FM team.
Connelly says waking up and entertaining people – and getting to work with 5MU Breakfast co-cost Jennie Lenman – is one of life’s great joys.

It’s been a big week for industry milestones, with Jon Vertigan yesterday marking 33 years in radio.
During those three-plus decades, the Magic 1278 host and Metro Content Director for the ACE Radio Network has worked across regional Victoria, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

As Jon shared with Radio Today in January this year “I’ve always loved radio. From the moment I was born, I was exposed to this wonderful industry thanks to my dad John, who spent over 50 years as a broadcaster.”
“His passion for the medium was infectious, and I’ve carried that love with me throughout my life.”
Works for ARN and still employed ? lucky bastard, still early days.
