ABC’s award-winning true crime podcast returns with fresh developments

ABC’s true crime podcast Unravel is back, with the re-release of its Walkley award-winning first season Unravel: Blood On The Tracks, featuring new reporting and fresh developments in the 1988 case.

Just outside Australia’s country music capital, a young man’s body is found on the train tracks, surrounded by shattered Christmas presents and discarded wrapping paper.

For decades, the mystery has haunted Tamworth: How did Mark Haines die? Why has the truth remained buried for so long?  And why did the initial investigation into the Gomeroi teenager’s death make so little progress?

Unravel: Blood On The Tracks was a groundbreaking cross-platform investigation that brought together podcast, screen and digital teams to deliver significant attention to the story in 2018.

Following this, a new inquest was launched, and official findings are imminent.

Now, Muruwari and Gomeroi journalist Allan Clarke returns with to where it all began for Unravel, revisiting Tamworth and uncovering what’s happened since, as the long-awaited final chapter of the story unfolds.

It’s the story of a town’s secrets, and a family’s unrelenting search for truth.
