New gigs for Parsons & Sha on ABC Radio Melbourne

Former Assistant Editor

ABC Radio Melbourne Breakfast duo Sami Shah and Jacinta Parsons will remain with the station in new positions.

Speculation over the futures of the presenters has swirled following revelations that Shah & Parsons will be replaced by comedian Sammy J in 2020.

Having presented Breakfast show for the last two years, Parsons is replacing Richelle Hunt on Weekday Afternoons. She’ll also join Brain Nankervis for end-of-week show The Friday Revue.

Hunt moves to The Conversation Hour alongside rural reporter Warwick Long.

“We’re looking forward to sharing stories and connecting with communities across Victoria,” said ABC Radio Melbourne local manager Dina Rosendorff.

“While it’s a new focus, the program will continue to provide a platform for discussion around key community issues, while showcasing a variety of great guests from all walks of life.”

Meanwhile, Shah is set to present a National Drive program over summer, and will appear on the station next year in numerous different roles.

In a move announced mid-year, Virginia Trioli will take over from Jon Faine on Mornings.

Myf Warhurst’s departure also sees Raf Epstein present an extended Drive program from 3:30pm-6:30pm Weekdays.

Favid Astle, Libbi Gor, Phillip Clark, Trevor Chappell and Rob Quinn all return as well.

ABC Radio has also announced its lineup for ABC Hobart next year, with the news that Lane Longhurst will join the station for Sundays, 10am-12pm each weekend.

ABC Radio Sydney and ABC Radio Canberra have also announced 2020 lineups this week.
