97.3’s KIIS The Car winner revealed

One lucky and deserving couple has won a brand-new car after kissing it across three days as part of KIIS 97.3’s KIIS The Car competition.

Launched on Valentine’s Day by KIIS 97.3’s Robin Terry & Kip, KIIS The Car was a loved-up comp that saw eight Brisbane contestants battle it out in the hope of winning a car for the special person in their life.

The rules were simple – each contestant had to keep their lips locked on the car, and whoever lasted the longest won.

Taking place in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall, participants were tempted throughout the competition with alternative prizes including $5,000 cash, an overseas holiday and Ed Sheeran tickets.  There were also some challenges along the way to put them off their game, including having to stand on one leg and taunts from the crowd.

Entering the third day of the competition, it soon came down to just two contestants who remained attached to the car – Amy (with partner Adam); and Annah (with partner Amanda).  With neither party willing to step away, two keys were put in the hat to be drawn, with Amy and Adam the eventual winners.

It was a bittersweet moment for the couple – their son Cody has a serious heart condition and they were desperate to win so they had an air conditioned car to take him to his appointments.

Speaking to Robin, Terry & Kip, an emotional Amy said: “I would go to the end of the earth for my kids, I’d cut my own heart out for them and it is so important to be able to teach kids to be strong, to face everyday life things that happen or unfortunate things like medical conditions, and I want him to see that I’m strong for him, and if this gives him a little bit more oomph to be able to get through his battles.”
