Peter Helliar opens up on the difficulties of fame

Staff Writer

This week on You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere, Rachel Corbett chats with comedian Peter Helliar.

Peter is one of the most well-known faces in Australian comedy and has worked as a comedian, television and radio presenter, producer, director, writer and actor.

In this episode Peter talks about the early days of comedy and how he ended up on one of the most popular television shows of the early 2000s, Rove Live.  He also discusses the importance of the team win in show business, the difficulties of fame and how a decision by Rove to turn down a million dollars at the age of 23 changed his life forever.

You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere is a podcast that goes behind the scenes of show business to prove there’s no such thing as an overnight success.

Each week Rachel chats with well-known media personalities about how they got into the business, how they’ve managed to stay there and what it takes to build a successful career.  Click here to subscribe.
