Wollongong Ratings: i98 remains dominant in the ‘gong

i98FM and Wave FM are the top two stations in Wollongong according to the latest Xtra Insights regional radio survey.

In the first survey since November of 2018, i98 fell in audience, but 26.5% of those surveyed still indicated they listened to the station most (-2.6).

Meanwhile, long-time runner up Wave FM started to claw back some audience, rising to 18.3% (+2.1) among people 10+.

ABC Illawarra and triple j made up the top four stations in the region.

The results prove again that localism is key to listeners in regional markets around Australia, with most major Sydney radio stations also available in Wollongong.

On Breakfast, i98’s Marty, Christie & Crammy finished ahead of new Wave FM Breakfast show Jade, Straney & Trav.

triple j’s Ben & Liam had an upturn this survey to finish 4th overall (+2.2).
