Wil Anderson & Andy Lee finally bury the hatchet

Former Assistant Editor

Wil Anderson and Andy Lee have aired some bad blood that dates back to the early 2000s.

Andy joined Wil for his Wilosophy podcast, and on it they discussed their ongoing feud.

“I want to raise something with you which is pretty confronting,” said Andy. “Hamish and I didn’t like you for a very, very, long time.”

Andy then spoke about a sketch show on Seven that he and Hamish Blake were a part of, and at the last minute, the network named the show Hamish & Andy.

The move upset the rest of the cast, who were friends with Wil at the time.

Having heard the worst about Hamish and Andy, Wil began using The Glass House and his triple j Drive show to mock the pair.

“What was the hard thing for Hamish and I at the time was we were really trying, and then the shows that I loved and listened to, I was becoming a regular punchline on,” Andy said.

Years later, the feud intensified when Hamish & Andy went head to head on Drive against Wil and Lehmo who were on Triple M.

After airing their grievances, Wil decided enough was enough and buried the hatchet.

“I know that I behaved like a dickhead. “I thought it was funny, I thought I was being really smart.

“I thought I was making fun of commercial TV… you were just guys trying to do a good job and trying to work hard that were being punched down.”
