Crammy & Lyndal to take over Wave FM Drive

Former Editor & Content Director

Grant Broadcasters’ 96.5 Wave FM in the Illawarra region is welcoming a new Drive show from November, with i98 Breakfast duo Ryan Cram and Lyndal Rogers taking to the airwaves.

Due to contractual obligations, Crammy & Lyndal cannot start until November 8, Grant Broadcasters said. The program will run from 3pm to 7pm.

Currently, the station has Chris Lee from 2pm to 5pm, followed by Nova’s Drive show, Kate, Tim & Joel from 5pm to 7pm.

In response to questions about the future of these programs on the station, Grant Broadcasters’ group content director, Ryan Rathbone, said Wave FM won’t extend its current agreement with Nova for Kate, Tim & Joel as the program doesn’t fit the station’s strategy. With regards to Lee, Grant Broadcasters declined to comment.

In an official statement, Rathbone noted the change in direction for the station with today’s announcement.

“We’d intended to build a new show from scratch but when Ryan and Lyndal became an option it just made sense to hire them immediately,” he said.

Cram, meanwhile, said it was time for a change.

“I have loved working with Lyndal and Marty, but after being on-air in the Illawarra for 21 years at the same radio station, I felt it was time for a change and to challenge myself. When this opportunity popped up at Wave FM in the town I have always called home and with Lyndal by my side, I couldn’t resist” he said.

Rogers added that the banter will continue at Wave FM.

“I can’t wait to be able to spend more time with my family in this new time slot and I’m super excited to reconnect with our listeners at our new home 96.5 Wave FM,” she also said.

Wollongong’s i98FM is currently on the hunt for a new co-host for Marty Haynes in Breakfast in the wake of Cram and Rogers’ departure.
