VIDEO: Nova 93.7’s Nathan Morris rides a penny-farthing

After a huge build up on-air, Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun took their Breakfast Show to the Nova carpark this morning as Nathan Morris fulfilled his lifelong dream of riding a penny-farthing bicycle.

With his family, co-hosts, two paramedics and penny-farthing owner Kim watching on tentatively, Morris effortlessly mounted the bike sporting textbook vintage gear: long socks, a steampunk helmet and goggles.

“If you see me coming and I need help – step in,” he begged his co-hosts. “ If I’m going to fall, help me, don’t just put me in the back of the ambulance.”

The fun eventually ended after a few laps of the carpark. Morris lost control and fell not-so-gracefully off the enormous bicycle and into a nearby onlooker.
