‘It’s not you, it’s me. I’m leaving triple j’: Veronica Milsom quits

Staff Writer

The talent exodus from triple j continues with Veronica Milsom confirming her departure from the government-funded youth radio station.

Milsom, who co-hosts national Drive with Lewis Hobba, has outrated and outperformed several commercial network shows.

Her departure, to have a baby, will sorely be missed by management and listeners.

Veronica's leaving 🙁

It’s been real but Veronica is about to release a new project…

“Triple J is dead to me now,” wrote a listener on Facebook. “You guys are like the Hamish and Andy of Triple J, but like a 1000 x better. Good luck with your baby, I hope it keeps you up all night.”

Milsom’s exit follows the departure of Breakfast duo Ben & Liam, who were successfully poached by NOVA Entertainment group PD Paul Jackson last year to host Breakfast on Nova Adelaide.

Linda Marigliano, Gen Fricker and Tom Tilley have also left their posts at triple j.

Australian music’s Amy Shark also took to social media after news broke on Friday. “Ron the amount of times I’ve been driving in fits of laughter listening to you on the radio,” wrote Shark. “We all gonna miss you like crazy. Please do stand up or a podcast or something.”

Triple j will be now relying on many untried, new, young presenters and their youth-focused music format to grow and maintain its listenership.

The triple j brand remains strong and its national coverage is unparalleled.

I thought she had a baby last year?..Ron and Lewis have been getting cringier for a while; sometimes it’s like listening to 90s era parents trying unsuccessfully to understand yoof music. .

Give the Coda girls some time – I bet they’re still adjusting to the alarm going off at 4am.

They’ll find their feet soon.
