Moonman in the Morning partners with Virgin to reunite families

Triple M Sydney’s Breakfast program Moonman in the Morning has launched Moonman’s Homeward Bound, an initiative to reunite loved ones who have been separated or isolated due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The “tear-jerker” initiative is in partnership with Virgin Australia.

Host, Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney, said 2020 had been especially tough.

“The pandemic has spelt disaster. So many people have lost their lives, many their businesses and their jobs. One of the other devastating by products of COVID is that it’s kept families apart with border closures right around Australia. We’ve partnered with Virgin Australia to bring people back together. Human connection is possibly the best gift you could give someone, especially at this time of year,” he told Radio Today.

State borders across the country are beginning to open up in the lead-up to Christmas, however today due to an emerging COVID-19 cluster in Adelaide, South Australia, some states are re-evaluating their positions.
