All new Triple M Breakfast shows to be revealed within the week

Former Editor & Content Director

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) will round out the year with a flurry of announcements, finally revealing the hosts of its various Triple M Breakfast shows.

The Triple M brand launched in Perth at the start of the month, taking over the former Hit 92.9 station.

Former Hit 92.9 Breakfast co-host Pete Curulli moved over to Mix 94.5 – now part of the Hit Network – to replace Dean ‘Clairsy’ Clairs, however the new Triple M lineup has been held back.

Triple M’s replacement in Melbourne is also set to be unveiled this week, following the departure of the longterm team of Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy who helmed the Hot Breakfast for over a decade.

And up in Brisbane, there’s a potential hole to fill with comedian Nick Cody making the move down to Melbourne to form the new Fox FM Breakfast show with Fifi Box and Brendan Fevola, Fifi, Fev & Nick.

Cody was on Triple M’s Big Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody, alongside Greg ‘Marto’ Martin and Margaux Parker.

SCA’s chief content officer Dave Cameron told Radio Today this afternoon that it was always the plan to end the year with a bunch of last-minute announcements.

“We will wrap everything up this year, I promise you,” he said following Survey 8’s release. “I will wrap everything up for you in the next week.”

On Perth he said despite it only being a week since launch, Triple M was finding its place in the market.

Its full lineup will be revealed “in coming days”.

“We’ll be really excited to show the brand in totality with the Breakfast show when we’re ready to talk about that really, really soon. But it’s launched really well. Perth’s a bit of a rock town.”

He said despite the recent success of the revitalised 96FM, there’s still room for Triple M to “have a bit of fun and shake up the market a bit”.

ARN is also set to reveal its Adelaide replacement for Jodie Oddy this week.

Still no word on any of these shows from SCA or ARN. Very disappointing!
