Toni and Ryan take out the trash

To promote their podcast, Toni and Ryan have taken ‘Hot, Fun Garbage’ to the next level, getting their very own promo garbage truck for local TARPers to drop off last year’s baggage and start 2023 with a meet and greet at St Kilda Beach.

Guests were invited to throw out their boyfriend’s holey undies away or get rid of any horrendous Christmas sweaters they may be sick of looking at. Once they’d taken out the trash, attendees could grab a free coffee or gelato and kick back with Toni and Ryan.

“I am blown away by the number of our loyal TARPers who came down to give their clothes a second life and give us a cuddle. I can’t believe just how good having a ‘garbage’ podcast feels,” Toni said.

“We all have that bag of clothes in the back of the car to be donated, or something our partner wears that we can’t stand, so when we got the chance to take that off people’s hands with our very own ‘Hot, Fun Garbage’ truck, it was a no brainer!”

All the clothes discarded in the ‘Hot, Fun Garbage’ truck are donated to charity for the chance at a new life (except the old undies).

“It’s only starting to sink in for me just how much the show and the TARPer community means to people,” Ryan said.

“It’s one thing to see the listener numbers on a computer screen, but seeing people lining up for hours and hearing stories of how far they travelled just to say hi, get a photo and be part of this idea is unreal.”
