The Kid LAROI dominates 2023 Spotify Aussie Music Global Impact List

Reporter

Spotify Australia has unveiled its latest Australian Music Global Impact List, the first to consider a full year of streaming.

The list recognises the Top 30 tracks from Aussie artists with the biggest global impact on Spotify over 2023.

Sia tops the list with ‘Gimme Love’, the lead track from her forthcoming 10th album Reasonable Woman.

Established indie rock outfit Tame Impala, emerging Melbourne rapper Lithe, electronic music duo Shouse and singer-songwriter Clinton Kane all crack the list’s Top 10.

Emerging as the dominant export force of 2023 is The Kid LAROI, who achieves a whopping five entries on the list, as the 20-year-old continues to establish himself as one of the most successful Australian artists internationally.

The list is generated from global streams of tracks by Australian artists but excludes streaming in Australia.

Spotify Australia Head of Music Alicia Sbrugnera says “The 2023 Spotify Australian Music Global Impact List is an excellent snapshot of local artists having an impact on the global stage, and it’s pleasing to see that our first full-year edition contains a mix of established and emerging artists.”

A supposedly “radio” news website consistently writing stories glorifying music streaming. Concerning if you ask me

4 x 4min ad breaks every hour in breakfast is probably more to blame for radios increasingly irrelevance than a few radio today articles
