Survey #1 2017: SCA soars in Kalgoorlie

SCA goes from strength to strength in the latest radio survey for the mining city of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Local commercial stations Hit97.9 and Triple M Goldfields improved by +2.7% and +4.8% among +10 listeners to retain pole position in the region.

Hit is again the #1 station at 35.8% with Triple M holding second spot with 30.8% (10+).

Hit dominates the key sessions with breakfast team Ned & Josh (37.4%) beating out Triple M’s Glenney (28.6%). Ned & Josh managed a jump of +5.4%, while triple j’s Ben & Liam slipped -4.9% to 8.9%.

At drive, Hit’s Hamish & Andy are immovable at #1, gaining +2.3% to reach 38.9% of the overall listenership. Cliff Reeve’s Triple M drive show shot up +5% to 29.1%.

With a total of 26,900 people tuning in to SCA radio in Kalgoorlie each week, both SCA stations had a cumulative growth of 13%.

“After an impressive 2016 survey, it’s fantastic to see growth in the majority of areas across both Triple M and Hit97.9,” said SCA Kalgoorlie general manager Raelene Hutchinson.

The next regional radio survey will be in Maryborough (QLD) followed by the Sunshine Coast (QLD).
