Mel’s spray tan challenge

Politicians have been known to do just about anything to secure a vote or get a photo in the paper. Sometimes they’ll do it for a good cause.

And that was the case with NSW State MP Gareth Ward, who took up a spray tan challenge from Wave FM’s breakfast announcer Mel Greig.

Mel joked that she’d love to give him a refreshed look for winter given his pale complexion.

The Member for Kiama, who has the genetic Albinism, was happy to take up the offer.  But there was a string attached: a thousand dollar donation to the charity of his choice.

He got the spray tan and Surf Life Saving South Coast got the thousand bucks.
