Spida’s 24 hour Ride

Staff Writer

Gold FM’s Spida Everitt is raising funds to support sick kids in the children’s wards of the Gold Coast University Hospital and Tweed Hospital, by riding  continuously for 24 hours – it all kicked off this morning.

With donations going to Gold FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids, Spida can only ride while donations keep coming in “Every year I want to push myself to get the most for the kids, physically and mentally, knowing that the driving force is that the more minutes I ride, the more money we get and the more money we get, the more little lives we save.

“I don’t train and I don’t prep. I just want to turn up and give it absolutely everything I have and I mean absolutely everything. Often it only looks like one person riding but mentally there are about 6, these rides take you to all sorts of places.”

Gold FM’s Bridget Daley said: “Every year Spida blows my mind with Spida’s Ride for Give Me 5 For Kids. He has a heart of gold and so much determination and strength. I’m so proud of my mate. He truly puts himself on the line every year for the kids of the Gold and Tweed Coast Hospitals.”
