Southern Cross Austereo has always accepted full responsibility

Southern Cross Austereo has released a statement with the conclusion of the inquest into Nurse, Jacintha Saldanha overnight.

SCA, while taking full responsibility for broadcasting the prank call has acknowledged that the announcers at the centre, being Mel Greig and Michael Christian “were not the final decision makers about whether the call went to air.”

SCA has also donated $500,000 to a trust fund for the benefit of the Saldanha family.

As acknowledged by the Coroner, Southern Cross Austereo has fully co-operated with the Coronial Inquest. We also note that the Coroner has said, “There is no causation as a matter of law between the hoax call and any subsequent voluntary action by Ms Saldanha.”
